Physics Review

Hello class,

I just added some significant figure questions to the review.  If you have any other questions, either post or e-mail.  Good luck!

Also, I will be available for questions during lunch.

11.10

Students took a brief significant figure quiz.  Then, we completed Measurement Tasks with Sig Figs.  Students had to measure objects using the appropriate significant figures.  Also, students learned about the relationship between accuracy and significant figures.

MEASUREMENT TASKS

11.9

Papercut: Students had to determine the thickness of a single sheet of paper using significant figures.  See the assignment below.

PAPERCUT

Big Ideas

1.  Larger objects yield more significant figures when measuring.

2. Counting is different than measuring in terms of significant figures.

11.3

Papercut: Students are challenged to determine the thickness of a single piece of paper using significant figures.  Please see the assignment below.  We will finish this on Monday, November 9.

11.2

Today, students will take a quiz on dimensional analysis.  There will be no physics skills test tomorrow because I would like to complete significant figures first.  After the quiz today, students will try to determine the rules for significant figures.
